Overview
CartReason AI is a Shopify app that helps merchants collect feedback from shoppers who hesitate before checkout. The app can display a feedback modal on the cart page or cart drawer and allows shoppers to select exit reasons and optionally leave a written comment.
Information we may collect
CartReason AI may collect or process the following information:
- Shop domain
- App session or store identifier
- Modal settings configured by the merchant
- Selected exit reasons
- Free-text comments entered by shoppers
- Cart item summary
- Page URL where the modal was shown or submitted
- Storefront language
- Industry setting selected by the merchant
- Trigger reason and close reason
- Timestamps
Information we do not intentionally collect
CartReason AI is not designed to intentionally collect:
- Customer name
- Customer email
- Shipping address
- Billing address
- Payment information
However, shoppers may voluntarily enter personal information into the free-text comment field. Merchants should avoid encouraging shoppers to submit personal, sensitive, confidential, or payment information in that field.
How we use information
We use collected information to:
- Provide cart hesitation and exit reason analytics to merchants
- Display selected responses in the app admin
- Generate CSV exports for merchants
- Apply merchant-configured modal settings
- Troubleshoot app behavior and support requests
- Improve app reliability and functionality
Data sharing
We do not sell shopper feedback data. Data may be processed by hosting, database, infrastructure, analytics, or support service providers as needed to operate the app.
Data may also be disclosed if required by law or to protect the rights, security, and integrity of the service.
Data retention
Data is retained as needed to provide the service, support merchant analytics, support merchant requests, and meet operational or legal requirements.
